# Create an event or Meetup at BMS

Want to start a regular meetup at the makerspace? Here's what you do:  
1\. Write up an outline for your event. Just 2-3 sentences explaining the What/Why/Who of your meetup  
2\. Consider how many people you can invite, age range, setup/tear down concerns, opening the gate (if it’s outside of public hours), a/v needs, is it ticketed or free? Just for members? etc.  
3\. Post your request (preferably via Slack on the #events channel). Or contact BMS Executive Director Jason Davies \[<jason@bellinghammakerspace.org>\]. He will help you to finalize it and arrange for any support you might need.  
4\. Make a graphic for Eventbrite. 1880x940 pixels. Jason can help with this.  
5\. Find some dates and a recurring schedule that works for you, your audience and the makerspace.  
6\. Find a backup or co-host that can help you make sure someone can host every time  
7\. Make a plan for how you and BMS can advertise this event.   
8\. Jason will get the event on the schedule  
9\. Enjoy your meetup!
